mine moves from 3 to 4...mostly warm weather here...summer temps are 4 bars constantly

(Gen 1 with 6 bar temp gauge)

twice...2 different engines...curvy mountain road...2nd gear lazy, no brakes, twist throttle to speed up, close throttle to slow down...over and over for a couple hours...bikey no likee after mile after mile in the hot of the afternoon, I guess
Interesting. Same Gen I as you. Have been riding everyday in the 110+ temps of summer in Phoenix. The only time I see 4 bars is if I am stopped for a while.
you obviously only ride in "dry heat" !!! :p

Mike, if you put a light behind the radiator, can you see it from the front? Just thinkin' there might be an issue with yer koolin' system there.

Oh, yeah. There's water in it an' everthang, too, right?
radiator was out a few months ago when engine was pulled to replace valve

Aaron examines everything he touches and would tell me something is amiss

(Same way back when he swapped the engines)

and I paid for x quarts of Coolanol this time and last time

plus I've had a mechanic more wise than me send me to the nearby convenient store for a gallon of Prestone even though it only needs 4 ounces to top off the bike

the weird thing is under a fixed set of circumstances, this happened twice in 100k miles

so I glance more often at the temp gauge on long runs in the twisties

Oil...get something designed for motorcycle wet clutch, change it as recommended...ride.

I have used T6 and Valvolene MC 10-40. Can't say I noticed much difference.
