Hi there,

Wondering if there are any good quality companies that can ship the FJR to Germany from LAX. Did research and most are national and the international ones outsource their work to India it seems.

Thanks

Armand

When I moved from UK to USA a few years back, I used Allied International, who hooked me up with a local agent that handled everything. Excellent service and everything was received in good condition.

I did look at shipping my bike (ZXR750 at the time), however I learned that I would need an "agent" in the US to have the bike modified to meet US safety and emission legislation, and thereafter inspected and registered. Not cost effective for that part so I sold it. Not sure if you would be required to do anything similar shipping the bike to Germany, but you might want to check.

Thanks Wild72,

in regards to German specs, its actually for export. In other words, ship the bike to Germany and ride it out to another country from there where Specs should not be a problem at the final destination.

Allied International...I will check them out.

If he is working with the military or US government he should come under the status of forces agreement and he will have no problems. If not he will have do deal with German custom fees etc.

Hello Armand, When were you planning on shipping a bike to Germany? If it is immediately, then I would recommend Allied International also. If you can ship it next Spring, you may want to do as we Beemerphiles do and ship with Stefan.

https://www.knopftours.com Stefan Knopf owns Knopf Motorradreisen in Heidelberg just steps from the Kircheim train stop.

He can ship bikes to and from America at any time you want, but his very best deal is tied into Daytona Beach Bike Week.

Europeans are wild about going to Florida for Bike Week, so Stefan arranges an inexpensive shipping container so they can do this. He also offers low cost storage in his warehouse for American bikes. In three more years, when I am retired on Social Security, I am shipping "Lucy Liu" my 2003 FJR 1300 to Stefan. I will just keep Lucy there and buy another FJR here.
