After 300 plus miles in this helmet, I can say that it is all day comfort. The air flow is adequate, but not like my old X11. Very loud with the upper vent open, especially if it is windy. The windscreen fogs up easy, but I did not install the pinlock liner. One thing, those with a GT air, which position is open on the rear vent? Neither position did much to increase or decrease the flow. I may trade it in for an RF1200.

I purchased a Shoei GT Air a few weeks ago. I also have an RF1100 and a Neotec. I have Sena communicators mounted in all of them.

I really like the Neotec but the fit has never been right. Initially I would get severe pain in my right ear area from pressure. I changed to 31mm cheek pads and that helped but the ear ache creeps in after about 3 hours. I think the design of the Neotec, with the bottom of the helmet coming lower on my jaw line (modular design) is the cause. So on looking for something else and the opportunity to spend $600+!

The GT Air has great ventilation that is comparable to the Neotec and much better than the RF1100. I find it is quieter than the RF1100 and certainly quieter than the Neotec (noisier with top vent open but that is to be expected and critically important for comfort). I like the internal sun shade which works excellent just like the Neotec. I found the fit of the GT Air to be tighter than the other Shoei helmets I have and went to an XL instead of a L. I did have to change the cheek pads to 31mm from the stock 35mm.

So far, very happy with the GT Air.

Good post and analysis of the Neotec fit. I want/need a modular for at least some of my riding, and have been underwhelmed by the other current offerings (especially the Schuberth, at its price...). So, I hope Shoei is listening and takes the Neo's features back toward the Multitec's shape.
