Short review of my new FJR

Hi,
I bought a new 2008 FJR and I am now at 1700km.

What I can't get used to:

The shifter is 'clunky' and has a long throw. It should be much more silent

and short throw.

For the Gen I bikes you can replace the shift actuator with one from an R1 to make the throw shorter. Not sure if your Gen II can benefit from the same thing. I tried to do a search for more info but came up short. Here's the best I can do:

When I get off my old HD with square cut gears and hop on the FJR, I've died and went to heaven as far as shifting. Like the other's, the FJ clunks into first especially when cold but just ride it and you'll soon forget. I've been riding the FJR since 06 and it still just keeps getting better and better with every ride.......PM. <><
