So I picked up a used from fellow forum memeber FredandJeannesRacer. I wanted to try cutting a screen down for summer riding.
I started by making a template of the top contour of the screen and transfered it 5" lower. Since the screen is wider down there, I used a string and pen to run an arc to the edges.
I covered the screen in painters tape before attacking it with the Jig Saw.
I used a 2-3 grades of sandpaper to smooth and round the cut. Wet sanding the last few stges. Here is a comparison to a stock screen.
Next I mounted it up. Here are shots: front, rear low, rear extended.
No ride report yet, due to rain.
My motivation is to get more wind on those 90F+ days. We'll see.
