The world is full of good people, this forum even has a couple as well. Today my Bushtec blew a tire at speed and once I got her whoa'd down and out of the line of fire - I had a bare rim on my hands. I looked around and it was me, the Mrs., and a bunch of sage brush. Oh yeah, and what used to be Silver Lake which is now the Silver Lake bed. I was on the last two days of my 5700 mile trip, was cranky, butt tired, etc. and now this...I knew I was sort of near La Pine, OR and I also knew that this dude of lore lived there. FJRay. I had never met Ray,but I knew he ran a Bushtec as well. So I got his number from AuburnFJR and gave him a shout.

Can you believe he answered the phone from an unknown number? Not only that, offered his spare tire and wheel no questions asked - just sat it out for me to grab. And I did just that. After going back the 65 miles to the trailer, swapping it out, riding back the 65 miles again (the third time now, grrrr!) I swung by his place for a proper introduction and to say thanks. Met Ray and his wife, excellent folks as many of you know, met the puppies, saw the toys, saw more toys, and then a few more. Was offered a room for the night. At the end, he loaned me another tire and wheel because of course the other side was done in as well.

Ray - thanks for the help and the time. I loved your place and could have spent much more time getting to know you. You sir, have a chip in the big game.

I might have a pic or two once I find a proper connection. For now, I wanted everyone to know that the forum, and in this case Ray, was there when needed.

Ray is a Prince, when Bambi totaled my FJR in Washington state a few years back he was the first to call me with offers to come get me and the bike on the spot. Can't say enough good things about the man Ray.

Big props to Ray! I have met nothing but great people through this forum and can only hope I live up to the example you folks set day in and day ut.

Was wondering what all the up and back trips were...now we know. Ray's a good man, glad it worked out BReamer!

Photo assist: Here are the photos he BR sent me where he stashed the trailer while going to get the tire and wheel from Ray. Glad Ray was home and could help!

Looks like we'll have to carry spare trailer tires along with tubes on our trips now. Bushtec says the 6 ply tires can be run flat. Looks like this one didn't do to well flat. (of course speed may have had something to do with it too.

Ray ol' buddy, take a bow. you are the best. Mike working on my bike in Ray's garage in 2013.

Patty and Ray are great people .

Glad you were able to get a spare, + 1 for Ray. FYI you can get Bushtech parts in Tacoma and not pay the $50-60 for shipping tires from Bushtec.

Thx Bryan for posting my "originals" pics of the trailer. Oddly, when I got back to the trailer to swap out the tire - I found someone had been along. Didn't take anything, not even a drink from the cooler. But they did do this: Not sure if it was humor, or an attempt to camouflage while they fetched something to haul it away. A mystery.
