So...I get an actual explanation as to the cause of, excessive exhaust valve guide wear.
If you have an 06 or newer, don't worry, nothing to see here.

:blink: :glare: :assassin:The valve guide on the early models were sealed by a guide seal designed tokeep excessive oil from migrating into the combustion chamber The seal is
an "oil cut" type used on high performance engines. It was found that
riders who do not use the engine at a very high RPM may find the seal
doesn't allow sufficient oil to pass and you might experience wear at the
guide.
A new part was designed and it's a "leak-type" which is better for low rpm
use, but allows some oil consumption at higher rpm. We suggest that if any
guides are being replaced in your cylinder head for wear, that the oil
seals be replaced with the newer type (just FYI the old style is
automatically substituted to the new type in our parts system).
