Never mind what the two trolls above said. The screws coming loose? THIS WAS YOUR OWN FAULT!! How so? you ask. Well, because you obviously need to have less of a real life. You see, if you had less of a real life, you would spend more time on this forum. And if you spent more time on this forum, you would be all-knowing in things FJR.
And you would have come across THIS THREAD.

And then your screw never would have popped out. You're lucky. You could have lost the lock, or even the sidebag itself.

Simple, eh?

So forget about job, family, anything a *normal* person pays attention to, and become a worthless FJRForum junkie with no life. Much like twowheelnut.

Loose screw???

Like I've said,,,,I loved my FJR to death, but I miss both the professionalism & courtesies that I've become accustomed to with Honda dealers that the minute Honda comes out with a 160HP Super Sport Tourer,,,,,,I'm sad to say, my FJR is going on the blocks.

It's like having to deal with the 3 stooges vs a team of surgeons.....

Rode my 06 1,750 miles this past week and just found the same 2 screws are loose on mine! Glad they didn't work all the way out while on my trip. My dealer will hear about this during a scheduled appointment this coming week...

Isn't this like time to find a new Yamahy dealer or a private mechanic instead of looking to trade down to an inferior bike? Or should we call the "WAMBULANCE"? Sheeze......PM. <><

After reading all the ranting about no locktight I decided to buy a bit and check the ones on my bags. Bought the bike Monday. Shop head wrench supposed to do a good job.

NO locktight.

Gave the dealer an attaboy on the Dealer Feedback thread. Like they say, "All it takes is one awshit to wipe out all those attaboys."

Awshit. :angry2:

While I was at it, I decided to pin the bags to the lower bracket. Found out the rubber pieces are tapered, not square... that's why one bag seemed to do on and come off hard. It was uside down. Pull it off and stick it into the bracket on the bottom of the bag and you'll see what I mean.

So if your bags seem to grab when pulling them off, this may be the cause.

Unfortunately, now one rubber has 2 holes in it insted of 1. Wondered why I was having so much trouble getting the pin on one side to line up... now I know. :glare:
