Ok... One side got scratched from me dropping it, feet slipped out from under me..

other side, the bike was pushed over by some *******...

TOG's saved front, but bags look yucky...

So is there a thread / instructions for replacing the plastic.... and painting them...

also would need paint color codes.. for the superfast '05 blue

Thanks so much

Call Gary Mc Coy, University Motors 866-551-6478
He'll hook you up. You have to drill out the old rivets and put in new ones to replace the covers.

Make sure you don't drop it anymore after you fix them. :derisive:

My bags got scratched a number of times. It's so easy and inevitable they stick out so far. Instead of re-painting them each time I painted them with a can of Dupli-color spray in bed liner. I think they look just as good and now I don't worry about scratches because they don't show and it's easy to touch up when they do.

+1 to the comment from fjrvfr. I've been doing this for many years on BMWs with the gloss black bags. I've got a set of Sargent bag protectors on the "05 FJR now, but as many have pointed out, they don't protect the portion of the bag most likely to be damaged in a tipover as well as they could. When mine do get gouged........it's only a matter of time............out will come the can of truck bed liner spray and the problem will be quickly resolved. I know the gloss bags look great for the first year or so, but a pebble finish rather than gloss paint on the plastic would keep them looking good for a lot longer time. Some BMWs have this, some don't and the FJR sure don't.
