Thanks. Now I have to take my bike out of storage. I guess I don't have the will power to leave her alone for more than a week! ^_^

I believe the UK gets the same detuned motors that the fr*nch get.

No we don't. And stop swearing on an open forum.

Must suck being european.

Depends. We don't get the bags, but we don't get months of "Can't ride because there's snow on the roads" or "Can't ride because the temperature's in the 90s".

And, for me, Scotland's only 300 miles away.

What ya payin' for gas nowadays?

About 89 pence per litre. If I do all the hard translation for you (3.78641 litres to US gallon, $1.3405 to the £1 today), that's about $4.52 to a gallon.

So now you know why I plead poverty all the while.

Yikey Mikey. That's about what we were last summer. Right now I think it's about $1.80 around here (northwest New Mexico). But then we're all losing our jobs, got no money, the economy is in the dumper and we still can't afford it at that price! :dribble:

Thanks for the heads up on the sidecases, Mate. Did the double-loop last night and works mucho better. :yahoo:

It's that extra level of thought and quality that keeps me loyal to Yamaha.
Uh, maybe they just did it so they could use the same part on both sides, rather than a R and an L. Just sayin....

But thanks for the tip. I hate when my helmet comes flying out of the side case and is headed for the ground. Maybe this will help contain it.

Gosh, I didn't relaize I had a problem until now, but sure am glad we got a fix for it.

Thanks

Got mine done at about 2 am this morning in the dark (while drizzling) with a pen light and a key to help with the strap positioning.

Getterdun!!

Took 15 Seconds and I like it alot! Thanks MC. :yahoo:

You Brits are Freakin' Geniuses! :clapping:

But, What's with the Fish n Chips? Taste like Cardboard dipped in Vingegar! :dribble:

What's up with that, I don't get it!

Well, I went out to my garage to fix up my strap, and what did I see? It was already threaded like that. I gotta say the guys at HandleBar Motorsports in Durango did a Hellavua job assembling my bike. Everything was torqued and lubed correctly and all the fasteners were on right. This musta not been their first FJR.

Bloody Hell Mcatrophy, you are Da-Man (as they would say in the States).

Some one submit his name to the admin GOD's for consideration of Free Farkle of the Year Award and give him the credit in the Bin-O-Facts entry.

Perhaps you've only had fish 'n chips in America? Tastes good to me (does vary from shop to shop, just like hamburgers do in the 'States). Part of our staple diet, along with Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Maybe that's what turns us into "Freakin' Geniuses!". Not me, I'm just a (semi retired) electronics engineer.

Don't over-do the praise, I'll need to buy a new helmet :eek:hmy: .

Seriously, though, when I posted this, I was expecting to be told to push off :headbonk: with such trivia. So I'm pleased so many have found this little tip to be of use. Perhaps it's some return for the contributions on this site that have been of use to me.

Spent 10 days in London & 10 days in Paris on my honeymoon in May of 1990.

Had a blast! London was WAAAY better! It's true what they say about the French! (They hate us like poison!)

You might be right about the shop to shop when it comes to the Fish & Chips.

But, I must give credit where credit is due! The Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding kicked ***!

Thank you, that was one of those things that annoyed me but not enough to look too closely at it. Actually I just avoided the left sid bag all together. Not any more!

Just read about this and like alot of the others I have never thought of it. Makes sense to me. I'm walking out to the garage to do this right now... Thanks again..
