Are Icehouse/Wentworth Springs and Morman Emigrant Trail open? Thinking of making a "long"day trip over and back next weekend to ride one of these roads.

I believe a group did WWS and Ice House today and someone recently posted pics of Emigrant Trail which was open... just keep an eye out for run off from the snow melts! :)

Runoff is one word.

Flatlander.

:D

They're all open, dry, clean, ...and a hoot.

Have fun, Roy.

OM,

Can't remember the name of the road ( not sure I ever did) might you know? Last Fall we road to Grizzly Flats from Somerset. We looked around and talked to a couple of volunteer firemen and they said "go back to the first left and turn left and just stay on the pavement and it goes all the way to North South Road". Is that Capps Crossing Road?

It was a paved (with some good holes in it) "cattle trail" in spot but gorgeous country, great creek near where it met with North South Road. North South was great end to end.

Wentworth and Icehouse were surprisingly clean yesterday. No debris, water, snow or LEO's that day! :yahoo:

I rode Mormon Emigrant Trail last Thursday and it was mostly clear except gravel near Iron Mountain Lake road (according to GPS) and some snow chunks on the road at the higher elevations. Nothing too bad, you should be able to see them coming around a corner at a fair speed.

Capps Crossing road and Grizzly Flat roads both end on North-South..Grizzly Flat road ends closer to PiPi at four-corners..

Cosumnes mine road also goes to North-South but turns to dirt for a few miles..Nice country but I would rather ride around Fiddletown than Grizzly Flats on a street bike.

Just ride them unless they turned to dirt with in the last year they should be all paved. I dirt biked up in that country.

fun roads. road them last year

Thanks all for the feedback. I can' t remember for sure but I think it was Capps Road. It was "paved goat" tail for a section outside of Grizzly Flats but after that neat sight seeing road - not a dragging iron but enjoy the forest and creeks road.

The other riders whata to do Ice House and Wentworth this Saturday. The plan it to leave Dublin at 9:30 and have lunch somewhere in ******* Pines guessing around 1. Coming up through Plymouth and Somerset. If anyone wants to hook up.
