Who'd I meet at the gas station in Ontario on the 06? You guys must have just come down Wildcat...

That was quite a group! Where from?

Hi Chris. A group of us came through Wildcat on Saturday and stopped in Ontario. The guys I was with (on K-BMWs and an Aprilia Futura) are from the Madison and the Richland Center area. I am from Hartland (near Milwaukee) and have an 06A. However, saw no burgundy FJR, just a couple of Harley's lumber past and about 1 minute later a group of R6 types screaming towards Wildcat. Our geriatric group likes to think we went screaming through it, but not even close! Anyway, great day for a ride. and you can go almost any direction and find great roads without traffic, unlike east Wi.

Spent a bunch of summers in LaCrosse growing up. Another beautiful part of the state and some nice rides too!

Must not have been us? But nice to know you were out and enjoying the area.

Must not have been you, my wife and I were riding and had just met up with my dad (he lives just outside Ontario) and he needed to gas up his wing, so we stopped. I pulled in to the station right next to the guy on the blue FJR, and we were both like, "nice bike". It was quite a group, a couple Ducatis, some Triumphs...I think I saw Illinois plates, so I'm wondering if they were from the Chicago area or something...

It was a beautiful day for a ride!

Yes it was the TWiStar group. The ride was put on by the Mil/Chicago chapter of HSTA. I think there were three FJR's a blue 06 for sure and I was on a blue 05. It was a great ride, but someone was killed and that put a damper on the whole trip.

I heard about that, I'm sorry to hear it. I'm still confused about what happened there, because when I met the group, they must have just come off of wildcat and were getting gas, I talked to a few of the guys and everyone was in a great mood, didn't hear about anything bad. Maybe the people getting gas were far enough ahead that they didn't see it, and hadn't heard yet? Or did the group turn around and run wildcat the other way?

Dale (I didn't know him) must have been near the back of the group, so most of the riders didn't know about it until we got back to Spring Green that night. Very sad but it was his time to go.
