Signal Dynamics Back-Off

I installed the Signal Dynamics Back-Off "Wig-Wag" brake modulator a year ago but it has mysteriously stopped working. First I checked the fuse..that was OK, second I checked the Bulbs...they were OK (didn't really think two bulbs would burn out at the same time!), third I checked the relay voltage into the Back-Off..that was OK. So I bypassed the unit and my brake lites work now. So I have a toasted unit that just went out of warranty 2 frikking days ago!

Any one else have any bad experiences with this device? Should I just replace it or get something else?
