Riding home after about 200 miles yesterday, and hit a downpour. Since it was traffic, here in Korea everyone puts on the flashers to slow down.

When I did, I got nothing.

Pulled the fuse this morning, and it is fine, but changed it anyhow, just to check. No luck.

I did have the Brodie ground harness installed about 3 weeks ago, but everything has been fine....

Any ideas on what I am dealing with?

I am assuming that the signals share a common ground.....but which one?

Dragonchef - can you verify functioning on all of your lights? Check the turn signals, brake lights, running lights, etc. If everything is working fine with the exception of the flashers, it's either the flasher switch on the bar assembly, or the relay.

However, if other lights are inop, it points to other things. Verify what you have working and not, and let us know.

Gen II have only one flasher relay [solid state-no noise] for both signal and hazzard. If either works then the relay is good. Both signals and hazzards are supplied power from one hot wire from the relay, and each switch grounds thru the signals. You can access the relay easily by removing the two panels over the battery- the relay is directly behind the right headlight adjustment knob. Unlikely that the problem is in this circuit but the ground harness install is worth a second look..

According to RZ350's most excellent chart the right front signal grounds thru spider #8- the left front signal thru #7. 8 grounds to 7 which grounds to 6 which grounds to 4 which grounds to batt.

I think you need to check the harness connections. I just installed a spider harness on Friday, and some of those connectors are pretty tight. The shop that installed it may have failed to "snap" the two halves together. Just a thought.

so a few lessons learned here;

--I should have read a little farther down the list of fuses....signal fuse has nothing to do with the signals. The hazard fuse does...

--In any case, fuse was replaced, and blew again

--Traced the short to the tail light

--Have been using the Kisan TailBlazer tail light modulator(s)

--One of them totally fried. You could smell it as soon as he pulled it out of the lens...(I tried to take a clear picture, but my photo skills for tiny things are not up to scratch)

--So I got farkled by a farkle....

Thanks to everyone who pitched in with suggestions!

The success is that you found the issue and corrected it. Good for you! :clapping:

Of course, once the replaced fuse blew you knew it was time for a search mission.
