I'm heading up to Paradise this Friday (no, I'm not planning to blow myself up, silly :no2: ).
Where was I...? Oh yes, so I'm heading up to Paradise, California, which is in the foothills just east of Chico, which is in the valley just a little southeast of Nome (make that a lot). I need to be in Paradise by 4-ish, where I will spend the night and return Saturday. The forecast is for big bright-yellow balls.
I'm planning to head east from the Bay Area around the crack of dawn (i.e., around 11:30 am) to Hwy 49, and toodle my way up through the Gold Country, maybe checking out the Old West towns along the way, and stopping in Grass Valley to see who's there (maybe FJRob or my friend what's-her-name). On Saturday I'll be heading home late morning, maybe via the coast or the foothills or just thread my way through the valley.
I would enjoy the companionship of a fellow rider(s) in either or both directions if anyone out there also works for the public sector and gets Friday off in memory of somebodyorother. Because I amcrashing staying with my relatives, I am powerless to offer to my companion(s) a place to stay. So we will have to part at some point.

P.S. Will actually head up a wee bit earlier than 11:30, but I wanted to scare off Old Michael.
