I've got the Audiovox CC I'm going to put on my '08. I suspect this may not be my first question :)

I bought the Skyway Mount. Nice piece of equip., but comes with not one instruction. E-mail and t/c's to Skyway no help.

Here's the (easy) question: their site says "The control pad is recessed in the front of the mount, entirely concealing the wiring harness to provide optimum weather protection when correctly sealed at time of install."

As for mounting the pad, do you seal it to the mount for waterproofing with silicon, etc? How do I (or can I) waterproof it? Thanks for any advice.

I already know how to fish!!! :)

I want help with my bike!

Kidding aside, thanks for the links!

Spud...

I have the AVCC sitting in my garage. I'm prepping for the install and just received my mount from skyway yesterday. I ordered the one with the Ram Ball Mount. However, the mount has the wrong threads for the RAM Ball. I e-mailed skyway - no reply, nada, zero, zilch. Quick to take my $, but so far so, so, slow to respond with an answer. I'll give it another day or two and hope I get I reply.

There is a ton of info here on the install of the AVCC. Take a few minutes and search, you'll be amazed at the wealth of info you find. As part of my prep, I opened up the control pad, put silicon around the edges, around the buttons and around the wires.

I guess I'll put my $.02 in on Skyway here too. I pay $89.00 for their mount, it's nice but they could throw in a one page sheet of THEIR recommendation for sealing the unit, but they don't. So I e-mail them. Nothing. So I call--you go to voicemail and their inbox is full so you can't leave a message. Nice customer service!

You missed the Skyway Dealer Review and this pinned topic about him?

Lots of information on this forum if people look around a bit first.

Good luck next time...I think others have provide you some excellent alternatives.

I obviously need to hire a research assistant. I've literally spent hours researching the CC install, find out through research about the Skyway Mount (which by the way is very nice), and now realize I should have done separate research on the dealer before buying the product, and probably need to research the people advising me to research to dealer to make sure they aren't biased, and.....

Next time give Premeir cycle accessories a try in Ohio great customer service and product selection I use them, and I am from cali..

I like that I used gray oxygen safe rtv bought at autozone, but sure it's at any auto parts place

not the neatest outcome, though, but functional

actually neater now since it's been out in the rain quite a few times and excess has washed off or I've rubbed it off pressing the buttons

<it's upside down so my thumb is easy reach to the set/resume button, OK?>
