Since we have this great communication thing happening now, what is the status of the tank covers and other optional accessories (back rest, pockets, rain cover, etc..........)? Who is making the covers ?

I found myself in a hole once. 'Bout a couple of years back.

... and it can take time to dig yourself back out.

If you've never been there - you might not know just how hard it can be. Just saying.

Sure, getting your fuel cell late is challenging too - I hear ya. I'm not suggesting you don't have justification in being annoyed.

After all is said and done, I'm just saying that Ian is still one of our own. I'm not trying to piss on anyone's corn flakes - but just share my perspective from the sidelines.

Stick with it Ian - and good luck.

He is also a highly respected member of the IBA community. So all you IBA wanta be's should have second thought about jabbing a revered member. Remember an extra fuel container does not make one a IBR contender. It is a tight knit community.
Wow.

That's, uh, ...illuminating.

Tell me more.

I don't have any skin in this game either but read this with a lot of interest. I agree with Renegade 100%. Why is one who has arguably defrauded a bunch of folks out of lots of dough (TEN grand!!!) gets so much sympathy? How much did, eh, someone else, hmmm, walk away with to get dog-piled? Not a dime as far as I can tell. That amount makes it felony fraud if it ends up that way not to mention that fact that the money came from within his own community.

Granted some of you know and like Ian and no doubt know a lot more than the rest of us about the 'situation'. Since you're good, and obviously honest guys (more or less :butcher: ), and are counciling for restraint, I can see allowing some more patience but one note and no other feedback is not exactly reassuring.

Rather than making excuses and asking for more patience, he should make, then meet, a commitment to either refund the cash for cough up the product. Nothing else is acceptable. I've purchased from him before and would like to again but that depands on how this gets worked out.

I've been biting my tongue for a long time on this subject and completely agree with the Pappy's and other similar posts. Absolutely unbelievable. I don't care how busy you are or what issues you may have, when you've taken people's money they sent in good faith and leave them in the dark for months wondering WTF, well......shame on you. I've ordered many items from Ian in the past and have always been satisfied with both the product and the service. This must go way deeper than any of us know. I hope Ian pulls out of whatever bad situation he fell into, but I'm really hoping you guys who laid out your hard earned cash get what you paid for......and soon.

Although it doesn't change the pain you guys are expierencing with the fuel tank delay, I ordered Skyway frame sliders last Sunday and received them by Thursday.

That's great service by action.

I've always believed though if you can't provide great service by action, then great communication is the next best thing.

Great communication is: Complete, Accurate, Proactive, Timely and with Empathy

I haven't heard of anyone having a problem ordering products that are already on the web site. Those products and the service he provided for them -- even before he had the web site -- were what made his reputation, and I don't think that side of the business has changed much. It's the group buys he set up for products that hadn't actually been fabricated yet that seemed to turn into clusterf@%ks. It's a damn good guess that we've seen the last of those, and once this last one is cleaned up and folks go back to ordering the stuff he's already made, everyone will have happy thoughts about him again.

If I was in on this deal, though, I'd be hopping mad too. I think you guys are showing a great deal of patience and restraint.

Not a whole hell of a lot of good to be had by doing much of anything else... Screaming at the moon won't make the hardware show up any faster...

Happy anniversary everyone. Exactly one year since Ian's post for the fuel cell. No mount, no tank, no cover, no confirmation. Shame on me, I should have more patience.

Really! What were you thinking? I received my tank long ago! :D

Only in the Americas! You say?

Rumour has it....that Canadian FJR's tank is kicking around a shop somewhere.

But then I have been told that there maybe 2 tanks there... you know in the same place....

Trust me guys, having the tank and none of the other stuff isn't much of an improvement....

I wouldn't have to worry 'bout next year :(

Ian,

I am requesting a call on my cell. You have my number since I left it on your voice mail several times. This is a simple request. If you do not have my cell number feel free to pm me. We need to chat.

Can anyone else get to skyway's website?
I can. Looking to order some frame sliders and a hydration system..........maybe we should encourage all of our fellow riders to make purchases, this will maybe help Ian get out of whatever has happened so he can get back to work on his back orders. Again, easier said since I haven't sent a considerable amount off into the sunset, I know. What drew me to this thread was the interest in LD riding and seeking info on different products. Despite whatever has gone down, it sounds like people are receiving their orders from recent purchases, is that right? Either way, can anyone attest to this? I am relatively new to the forum and not here to stir/create any ****, but from what I have been reading both on the forum as well as from a few published long distance riding books, if Warchild is behind Ian in light of everything, than I support him too. Good luck Ian.
