After what they did to my G-men I hope they are that good!
So far, they sure seem to be. That offense looks nearly unstoppable, reminiscent of the Kurt Warner led Rams when they had it going. Only way to stop that is to stop letting the QB have any time. But Brees is barely getting touched, so he's lighting up everyone's secondaries.

That is a very good football team, and you N.O. fans deserve to savor it while you've got it. It's been pretty lean for 49ers fans these last years, so I hold onto memories of the dominant years, when I remember what it was like to KNOW my team's offense could score on anyone, and often. :wistful sigh:

Watching the Bills game tonight, I'm not sure you should touch the quarterback anymore. Bill's defense hit Delhomme but not hard, he had just got the pass off, fifteen yard penalty roughing the passer. Seems consistent with what I have seen this year, the announcers were talking about it too. I can see wanting to protect the QB, but enough is enough.

'Course Brees is a different issue, you have to get to him to get the penalty. :)

Absolutely agree. Add to that some of the girls' patty-cake interference calls, and the new 15 yarder for an apparently very subjective "horsecollar" tackle on anyone, and it's tilting way too far in the direction of holding your breath after nearly every play to see if the ref is gonna overrule the result -- kinda like watching the NBA in recent years. Enough IS enough.

Brees sucks. He is over the hill. He is washed up. The Saint's will never amount to anything. Even the fans suck.

What a great story the Saints are. It sure makes you like football when your team is doing well. The Saints deserve it. Brees deserves it (and others).

Alas, I live in the Washington DC area and we are way to polite to allow a team to lose to us. If you can't beat anyone else, please come and play us and you will leave a happy camper.

Pretty soon players will be wearing flags around their waists. Absolutely rediculous. I can see how they want to protect the money/franchise players, but the result is the field is tilted downhill against the defense. Look at all the 300 yard passing games and record passing yardage league-wide this year............ sad. Makes me wish for the purple people eaters, steel curtain, **** Butkas, et al.

As for the Saints: they have been the butt of so many jokes, like the cubbies in baseball, it is truly nice to see them playing well. Brees is a great player with a supporting cast around him for a change. supposedly some ex-Patriots they picked up have helped instill a winning attitude in the locker room.

My Dad always supported the Aints, but was enthrawled with Joe Montana/Steve Young to Jerry Rice days. And those Tom Landry Cowboys days.

My Dad took me to Super Bowl VI when Dallas beat Miami the year before Miami had their undefeated season.

Super Bowl VI was played at Tulane Stadium or the "Sugar Bowl". <sigh> It's a great memory... :yahoo:

Roger Staubach was a class act, and a Navy Man (Anapolis grad, played well for Navy), and did his 4 years service before becoming a Cowboy including a tour in 'nam.

ah, da memories

I'm thinking that the ride we got as Niner fans was kinda unique. Not sure I can think of another instance where a dominant team with a GREAT quarterback seamlessly transitioned to being a dominant team with another GREAT quarterback with no interruption in between. Both of them class acts with really good teams around them. It was fun while it lasted.

Go Aints! You all been too long suffering not to deserve a world title.

And, hey, Art - lighten up, would ya!
Hey Geek! You from Ohio! Why not the Browns?
Who?

Oh - you mean that football team that used to be in Cleveland? They moved, didn't they?! OH - the wife just informed me that there IS a team in Cleveland. Sorta.

I'll be damned.

Yeah, the wife's a Clowns fan. And, yes, Joe - we went riding yesterday. :yahoo:

Better yet - Brady Quinn went to my high school. Go figure.

I am a Boston native and am still a dedicated Pats fan. Been that way since the early 70's when I started paying attention to it. There were some long dry stretches in there, so I can appreciate both ends of the spectrum. Always glad to see a team come out of a slump. Really surprised how many teams are there so far this year!

Hopefully the Saints will not play the Bears this year or the game will be X rated.

Just checked the schedule. The kiddies are safe for another year.
