Last week I purchased a used Power Commander iii USB from forum member "Karl".
Installation was pretty easy, except for finding room for the new connectors behind the fuel rail.
I downloaded the software from the P.C. site, and downloaded the "Wally Kilburg Smoothness Map" from from H.Marc's excellent
FJR1300 info site. (https://www.fjr1300.info/)
Finally got a break from the rain today, and took a little test ride.
I can only say I shouldn't have waited so long. The throttle response is now very smooth. I was so used to part-throttle surging and off-idle
roughness, that I had learned to ride around it.
I tried very hard today to get it to surge or stumble, but I couldn't.
Even rolling on throttle in fifth gear at 2000 rpm, the motor just pulled smoothly.
I will have to see if I lose much fuel mileage, but some loss would be well worth it.
I'm also interested in how it runs when the weather gets hot.
Since my exhaust and air filter are stock, I'm not looking for H.P., just rideability
P.C. also has a stock bike map that I can try.
After one short ride, I have to give Dynojet two thumbs up!
