Excellent adventure Bug. Last time we spoke, you hadn't done HWY 162/FH7 over to Covelo, and HWY 101, have you done it yet? Highly recommended, 'n the Tenere would be the perfect bike once the snows melt, and it drys out some. (You purdie much need nobbies when it's wet.) I think the top of the pass is like 7,800 feet elevation?

That Leesville/Ladoga, is purdie country, dun Leesville back when it was paved; and 100 degrees out!

162/F7 ? Yes, Highlander and I rode it over to the coast in July during one of the only heat waves last summer.  What a blast and so nice to be at elevation and not the heat of Hwy 20. Even better was our ride back a couple days later. We left Shelter Cove at 5 pm and got to GV at 1 am. The view of Orland and the central valley was awesome at night, and man do I love my Clearwater Darla's.

P.S. That section of Leesville road behind you is new pavement....sweet!

My goal this summer, is ta ride 162/FH7 from willows to Covelo gas up, 'n take Zenia rd up to Mad River, 'n 36 back all in a day on my little Z400. Just wait'in fer the snows to melt. :)

They paved Leesville; I'm there dude! It was the worst asphalt I dun ever been on, then they ground it up, making it a dirt/gravel road.
