I went into my shop to find a low rear tire on my FJR. I put the bike on the center stand and rotated the tire until I found the *******. I small nail smack dab in the middle of the tread. Do I dare patch it or replace it. The tire has less than 1000 miles and has virually no wear. It's an avon that replaced the oem that caught a nail. I don't like how the front steers and was contemplating replacing the front already. Should I just replace the pair?

Talked about many, Many, MANY times before. Google is your friend...try flat repair site:fjrforum.com. Even a poll was done here.

Avon should have road hazard warranty. The y will replace for free or almost for free. At least tat is what my dealer does for me.

I called my dealer and asked about Avons raod hazzard warranty and they said they never heard of it. Can you guys shed any more light for me?

I trust the feed back from a forum member more than some random person I google.
Dude. The link is to an official document by Avon outlining their road hazard policy. It isn't a random person and seemingly more authoritative than your dealer seems to be. Help us to help you! Do a little bit of reading man! :D

+1.

You have been handed the assistance on a polished silver platter. Cleaned to spec.

My apologies, I didn't realize you had the actual document from Avon. Unfortunatly the warranty does not apply to me being the 2nd owner.

Cool on realizing it was there to help and show you how to find it. Bummer it doesn't apply. At least you now have the details.....their overall policy is similar to others.

I'd patch the thing and move on myself.

For a nice round nail hole, a bit of sticky string, rubber cement, and some double checking after air up should do just fine. It'll probably last until the tire wears out. :D

Pulled a 1 inch by 5-8ths bolt out of my rear tire. actually used a ratchet and socket to undo it. Put in a plug and went riding. That was about 5000 kms ago.
