smoke from those Kawlifornia Fires

Last weekend rode through a bunch of lightning and thunder showers ...resulting fires put the electricity out at our overnight stop in Burney ....

Now the hundreds of fires in CA are really throwing out the smoke and we're getting a bunch of it here in the valleys of northern Nevada ......

I was planning CA this weekend for some riding ..but me thinks I might be changing plans. I don't mind the smoke all that much ...but it certainly is bad enough to where you can feel/taste it and it certainly obstructs the views.

Shot taken mid-afternoon in Reno yesterday ...an otherwise clear sunny day without the smoke, but instead looks like a cloudy evening. ..from all the Kawlifornia smoke.

I believe it Mike, that stuff really likes to settle in the Valleys. so many fires though, not sure how to escape it. Kathy and I were discussing that today ...seems like most of the high altitidue spots we thought of were CLOSER to the fires LOL. they said today was the worst air quality /health day in the history of this village.

The Carver is working on it. Grew up in Reseda, where you couldn't see a kick ball through the smog if you had enough oomph in the kick. :glare: BTW, I wheelie and back the old fat gurl into corners too!

I almost went for a spin but after working outside all day I didn't think my eyes could handle it. Everyone in town is looking like pot heads with the red eyes, wait this is Grass Valley- everyone IS a pothead :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Ya, been hearing about it. I love Washington and even more the surrounding areas and you make not joke about the pot. (in fact just there last week (clicky) (and report here WA way down at bottom). Buddy of mine had not been there and always a fun stop. how close to the town? and what direction? Depending on the location, might be more than just the smoke causing those red eyes ...pass the munchies please.
Things are much better here as of this afternoon. Tuesday was the worst with people using headlights mid-day -the smoke was so thick. Cancelled a lot of events because of health concerns ...level 2 and the worst day in reno's history for air quality.

If I hit them while I'm riding on just one wheel, doesn't that cut the potential damage in half? But speaking of smoke hereabouts:
