I use a steamer, is that as bad as a pressure washer?
Yes. It may not use enough water to be a problem with puddles collecting in the pipes but hot steamy crud flows easily into electrical connectors causing corrosion.

I use george forman's grill. Eases all of the grease away. As for washing the bike.....I ride in the rain.

I guess I have never even thought of using any kind of pressurized sprayer when washing the bike. I use a nozzle that has a "shower" setting and wet the bike down from above. This nozzle setting has a very gentle flow to it. Then I wash with a good sponge and automotive car wash liquid. Then I rinse with the same shower setting and towel dry. I don't spray directly on any major electrical areas like the ignition switch. I do plug the exhaust for insurance. Have never had any issues with water. I just have to work a little harder to get the grime off.

hmm..

the 3 times I've washed her her the past year, I have always used a hose and just gotten her wet, then rubbed her down with a soapy sponge, then rinsed her off w/ the hose again...

I did use the leaf blower to dry her off though, but now that you mention that cna push the water behind the seals as well, I may go back to a towell dry/fast ride in the country dry.
