Has anyone tried the universal snow claws (or any similar product) available at aerostich? At under $20 per wheel, this may be a must try.

LMFAO!!! Not at you Bill..... never heard of them and not really inclined to try them. But I noticed that one of the related terms under the thread title is "deathwish"

It is. You can even see the MV logo on the Aerostich picture. I'd rather have studded tires, but these look intriguing, and a whole lot cheaper and easier to put on/remove.

When are you ever going to use them? Or, perhaps the better question: WHERE are you going to use them?

Let me know. The Subaru will get me there and I want photos. PS: I can give you a lift to the nearest hospital afterwards.

Having been through two events in our area, one involving me abandoning my vehicle and walking 13 miles home from Ball Ground, Ga, this is a bad idea that might get some use. Top heavy bike in ice or snow? What could go wrong? I'll take pictures. I never claimed to be smart.

On a side note- considering a SS1K to NOLA and back Saturday. Thinking of doing it Hud-style (shorts and tshirt with mesh pants and jacket.). Forecast is the opposite of snow.

Good luck with the SS1k. Start early enough, ie 4 am, and you'll avoid the worst of the traffic. You can always take an hour break in somebody's air conditioning at 3 pm.

Might be useful to check the GDOT work zones in metro Atlanta. It's roadbuilding season, and weekends are when they do the serious closures.

I'm with Scott on this. I'd feel better putting studs on the tire before I tried the bear claws
