So Cal "Monthly" Group Ride.

Hi all.

Another site I frequent does monthly group rides and it works out pretty well.

A weekend is picked like say last weekend or first weekend of the month ect....

Different ride areas and the rides are usually on a Saturday or Sunday when the majority of people are off.

What do you guys think of this idea?

What areas/roads would you like to ride?

Great idea. Someone needs to assume the role of planning and coordinating events. That is the hard part because it consumes time and some research. Perhaps starting with a Yahoo group email to announce upcoming events... Just some thoughts.

Just pick a spot for an early breakfast and pick a route while munching. If you try to over plan it then somebody wants to be in charge then pick a road captain then pick a sweep then pick hand signals then ride in a group then someone gets pissy cause sombody stops to take pictures then Richard stops to smoke and tells the rest to f#$k off then the road captain gets all butt hurt and on and on and on. Just pick a spot and ride subject to change without notice

Thanks for the replys guys.

I like FJRays casual approach...and I've done that before, but I think we'd get more interest if we picked a route or area to ride.

In fact we can talk/pick the next area to ride over lunch on the current ride we do.

Anyone else have any ideas/suggestions?
