.......it's because I am very, VERY close to pulling the trigger on an FZ6 for my wife. Some of you all may recall that she was the one at EOM in 2008 that had the Shadow 600. Nice bike for her and fits her very well but lets just say it's not the best for LD riding. In addition that is my back-up bike when the FJR is down for maintenance or if it is raining and 75 mile days via interstate in the rain are not fun. It belongs on the backroads at 45-50mph twisting and turning.
I tried my best to get her into an FJR but there is no way she will spend that kind of money right now and it's a tad tall for her anyway. She does however need an upright position and something I could add givi bags to for her to carry her stuff to/from work. I am working a deal for a used '08 from a dealer in Nashville so we'll see. I think I can sell my used VLX for enough to where the improvement in the quality of riding and safety will more than offset any displeasure in getting another bike and spending the difference. We just had a baby 3 weeks ago so she is itching to get back onthe bike and I am hoping this will be a welcome present...if not, send the cadaver dogs looking for me in the back yard.
Too bad I cant get her to EOM this year on it...
