You think it's tough now without test rides, I bought both my '04 and my 06' with Yamaha's famous POP, without even seeing one in person...
Gunny!, on the 04. I did the same thing, bought it (pre-owned) based on what I read here. :clapping: Never looked back. Though I had to wait 2 months for delivery from N.J.

Must be a feejer thing

:jester:

I had heard of the sport touring Yamaha for a couple of years. Came to the conclusion it was only a myth. In March 05, finally saw one, sat on it. Went home and started searching for one to buy. Paid full price, no dickering with the dealer. Now 18000 miles later, not one regret. jr

My husband had read about the FJR's and was determined that I would sell my Ninja and buy one. I was resistant. I loved my Ninja. Bought it new in 1986 and it was in perfect condition. Just didn't see anything on the market that excited me. Until I went to our local dealer. The owner drove up on his FJR...we talked to him a few minutes, and he gave met the keys..told me to have a good ride. I went for a spin with my husband riding his bike and I fell in love! Went home, polished up the Ninja and put it up for sale. Sold it in one day. But then I had to find an FJR for sale! Back in in '05 you had to "order" one in order to get it. So, I just kept calling all the dealers in the state. Found one 100 miles from home! I don't regret one minute selling my beloved Ninja for the FJR. As for height of the bike, I'm 5'6" and don't have any problems with it.

Just buy smart. By the time I bought my 05, I knew it was for me. Some posers need a new bike every 6 months. I only have to have the latest and greatest motorcycle every 75-80,000 miles, which seems like it takes longer and longer to put on one.
