Makes the point in a very effective way. I especially like the bus one.

It's not the fall that kills you, it's the stop at the end.
I like 'Speed doesn't kill, it's the instant deceleration that gets you.'

I think that's why I've mellowed out on street riding; after doing some track days you tend to notice the immovable objects that replace those nice gravel traps and large expanses of grassy areas. The video illustrates this perfectly.

You got me! I was thinking as I watched, "What the hell is this crap doing in a runoff area?". I think the light went on when I saw the bus.

Excellent video.

The picnic bench under the tree would make a great place to watch the race.
haha

the first accident scene I thought was real

I must be an *****. I thought the first guy sitting on the bus bench was some type of race official. I thought "what a coincidence that was." Then the second one came along with the table and benches and I couldn't figure out why that **** would be in a turn. I thought the red/yellow canisters were stacks of covered tires. I didn't get it until I saw the phone booth. Man...Sometimes I am really slow.

I roadraced a motorcycle for the 1st time last summer. Snowmobiling last winter came as a shock. I've been doing it for 20 years but never really even noticed the trees flicking by just a few feet away at 30 or 40 or 70 miles per hour.

It took me 1/2 a day to regain my "nerve" and ride at a "normal" pace. fortunately I'm a lot better snowmobile rider than I am a roadracer.

So you concur with what Bust' has been sayin' about you all this time???

:blum:

Where do I do my racing?
In the bedroom! First one to finish wins! :smokin:
Don't forget, though, bedroom racing is like a Chinese dinner....you're not finished until EVERYONE gets their cookies. :D

I just saw this from another site and decided to see if it had been posted here (before posting it myself...how novel!).

Great post, David!

Time to revive this thread.

The Queensland Government has a new series of biking ads (well, maybe just one) on TV. This is a longer version focussing on Protective Gear: https://www.motorcyclesafety.qld.gov.au/ind..._gear_in_action

It's a shame seeing an FZ6 eat the asphalt/bitumen/tarmac, but the slomo of the rider coming off is very impressive. Shows the dynamic of a developing high side excellently.
