I actually (ashamed to admit) went to the Honda/Yamaha dealership here to look seriously at/buy the nt700, when (thank God) I saw their used 06 FJR and the rest is history haha.

I also test drove an NT700, and wound up with a used FJR.

Have ridden solo literally 99.9 percent of the time, but was really glad that the pillion was available on the beautiful spring day my wife joined me for a ride.

Not "so fat", but "so big" at 6'5" that my middling fatness/fitness adds up to more than the NT 700 really wanted to haul.

I test drove most of the other ST's discussed here, and an '09 C14, and the FJR was hands down the best for me.

If only I could find a simple way to move the handlebars a bit further away...

Since my big wreck my girlfrind stopped riding, She seen too many bad things in the hospital so all my riding has been solo. The FJR is an excellent bike either way. I guess it's more about what you want out of your riding experience and what you expect from the bike you chose to ride. For the $$$$$ the FJR is outstanding.
