Ok Here is the deal seems like we got lucky.

I just spoke with Barry (Barabus) and he actually has an appointment at the museum at 10.30 tuesday the 16th.

so know we know the when who is up for it now?

I just did at mapquest and it is 152 miles from my house in Torrance to the museum which means leaving about 7.30am

My buddy Roger who typically rides a vintage Ducati or Bennilli and Jean, my trusty pillion and wife will be there, too. Roger will be on a rented Harley, so we will be late because we will have to travel slower, but you will hear us when we pull up.

Midweek is the new weekend. We rode Wednesday this week and enjoyed our favorite twisties without squids.

Hope your begging is a success. It's good to see a man beg, now and again

I'd think they'd just wing it.. plenty of spots right in town. and mid week should make for easy pickings..EDIT Oh now I get it.. you're thinking of meeting for lunch. DOH!

Where do you recommend?

Last time I was there, we left the bikes parked by the museum and wandered up and down the main street. There were plenty of places to eat. We got our party of about 16 seated on a Saturday, without a problem.

Per my PM to you, I'm seriously bummed about being out of town on business next week, 'cuz I would have definitely tried to make the ride to Solvang. :waaa:

Side comment: My BMW GS riding buddy (Phil W) invited me along on a month-long "four corners" ride in May '07. I said, "Four corners? Why would it take a month to ride from SoCal to the intersection of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico?" Phil replied: "Not those four corners! We're riding from SoCal to the Florida Keys, to Maine, to Washington State, then back home!"

"Oh. Those four corners..." (Yup, this 60-something guy started riding Iron Butt rallies back when they were called Bronze Butt rallies...apologies for the vague archaelogical sequence reference.)

Now that sounds like a ride to me, did it in a car once but not on a bike.
