Good meeting you all today! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your ride(s) 'cept for the Chevron... Which exit? Chevron hates Discover Cards, too...
It was the chevron on the 1 in oxnard, this first gas station on the 1 after you get off the 101. the place sucks.

was good meeting you too, keep your eyes open for the pics. i have a good one of Don thas only missing the handcuffs

Richard
Hey, bring on the humiliation! :clapping: It was nice to meet and ride with ya'll. Barbaras, Roger and I rode Foxen Canyon/Tepesequet to 166 then parted ways at Los Osos Valley Road. TWN, thanks for getting the gaggle pointed in the right direction.. obtw, 43.5 mpg, a record high mpg for me on winter fuel  .

So, you enjoyed that route, albeit at a sedate pace, it seems...

TWN thanks for the tip on Santa Rosa road was much more fun than the 1 would have been. Also that Jalama beach road was interesting.

Richard

Welcome. Nice little ditty, ain't it?
May come and join you guys on the Jalama run on Sunday just to break in my seat some more.

glad you got home ok. you are right on the sore ass bit.if only you guys could lane split like a messenger we would have been home hours ago. Just kidding

Richard
I think we did pretty well on the lane splitting, for a neophyte lane splitter anyway. It was a lot easier riding in the wake of the Goldwing though. I knew that if he got through, I'd have no problem.

By the time we got onto the 10, of course it was dark, and my concentration wasn't at it's best. Not a good time to practice new skills.

However, I shall watch and learn from the pro messenger in the future!

Report will be written probably Friday morning, while you're freezing your buns off in Ojai. I worked 12hrs today and back for 12 more tomorrow.

Did you see that it snowed in Malibu today?

Jill

Cool! Those guys are meeting in TO and I think heading over to the PCH, then up. I'll prolly hook up with them in Carp. That way, I can get some beauty sleep, too! ;)

Well the lane splitting thing worked out for me as i got to stop a few times for a smoke while you guys caught up

I will post some of the pics in the ride report and will include a link to the other 120.

Will be a very short ride for you.

Not sure if my trouble and strife will let me have a Sunday pass but if she does i will be there for sure.

Stopped for a smoke? Thought you'd gone home cooked dinner, taken a shower then came back out again. It took a while for me to figure out that it was you behind us on 405!!!!

If you don't get the Sunday pass, could your dear lady be persuaded to ride on the back for a little ways? The OC Women On Wheels chapter are meeting at Cook's Corner for breakfast. Barry and Jean are coming. There will be other guys there too.

(We're trying to dispel the image of Women on Wheels being thought of as ***** on Bykes).

Home safe. Big smile. Sore butt. 400 miles of smiles (apart from the LA traffic part). Will post a ride report soon.
Jill

PS Do NOT patronize the Chevron Station in Oxnard, close to the 101. They no longer take cards at the pumps and charged Richard for MY gas, charged me for someone else's gas, and wouldn't turn his pump on at all. No hint of an apology either.
Jill,

I could be your neighbor..........I'm on 15th and Orange in HB.

It sounds like you all had a great ride to the MC museum in Solvang (and beyond).

Did you take Aliso road out from Solvang?

I would have surely joined in on this one but this sinus thing going around got me good.

I'll be looking for your ride report and maybe some photos?

Where are you going to post it?

Curious...........How long did your Chatterbox battery charge hold out?

I have the 2 channel set-up also.

I left my Chatterbox on charge for a couple of days before the ride. Hadn't used it in a very long time. We didn't do much talking, but I had the XM radio playing through the Chatterbox, all the time we were riding. The battery held out all day, with no problem.

Jill,

Thanks .......I wasn't sure if it had the power to go all day.

I will be looking out for your next FJR group ride.......

I'll bet some butts are seeking rest today..........

Try and work me in

Jill/All,

Watch out for ATM card readers.........

I got zipped recently.

The HB police said they fix the bogus card reader

over the existing one on the pump, or a secondary

reader when the card is out of your sight.

So, I've been grabbing the card guide to make sure it's fixed now.

and or watch the cashier like a hawk swiping it.

Your right............ I "hate 'em"

Must admit, I went to work on four wheels, the day after our 400 miles, but I rode my Ninja Thursday and Friday. Today, I rode the FJR out to an MSF class in Cerritos then switched to a Suzuki GN125. Two of the students asked if 'real' bikes were as heavy as the training bikes. Then I showed them my bike. Gotta love those jaw-drops.

Jill
Jill,

I'm totalllllly impressed..................

So.........any rides in the works soon where we might get Barry/others

together and drag me around?

Do you have a Garmin GPS or MapSource software?

I like to save and review tracks/routes.

As you can tell, I like to ride!!!! My Christmas Ninja is now ready for the 600 mile service and I've put over 700 on the FJR this month too.

Now, I'm the total biker, because I don't have a car at the moment. (The downside to that is that I have to pick up some overtime shifts to buy some BMW parts, so that I will have a car again).

Barry has something special in the works for our next ride.

For direction finding, I follow the guy in front. That's a much better idea than anyone following me.

Jill
Jill,

OK.........I will check with Barry

The DV ride intrigues me .......... these guys are coming in

from the Morro Bay Hwy 41 area. From HB.... I could do a Ridgecrest intercept

with them for lunch and on to Trona, DV and Beatty for the overnight at the Stagecoach.

Possibly from there do the loop to the other Nevada casino and return through Shoshone

to Baker and back. You could even throw Wildrose Cyn in for kicks on the way into DV.

I've done this DV ride off road this time of year and let me tell you it's chillin........

Haven't checked total miles yet........could be long.
