What would DoG do?
I work at a fire department with 300 other guys, most of whom are quite a bit younger than me. Word gets around, guys talk, ya hear things....
I mean, these guys talk more crap than any knitting circle. One recent story I heard around a lunch table:
A guy (pretty young, <40) went for his annual physical, which included a treadmill stress EKG. The doctor checked the results, then put him off the job for further testing and eval. As part of the process, he had to do a family cardiac history questionnaire.
Long story short, his mom disclosed to him that, after his whole life to date, the man he had been calling "Dad" was actually his biological dad's former best friend, who mom had an affair with in the early stages of his life. Dad split, so the lie worked, or would have, until this little issue reared its ugly head.
Turned out the doctor read the EKG wrong, and there was nothing wrong with his heart, other than the recent shitstorm of discovery and all the related trauma brought on by that, not to mention thinking that he had a bad ticker and was living on borrowed time.
"Well, kid, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that you're perfectly healthy. The bad news is that your mom's a lying whore".
We have a saying in the profession: Telephone, telegram, tell a fireman.

Well...actually...(Hi Robin, we've missed you)...I thought he was happy with Eve and I was just wondering if he was offering himself and , well, y'know....thinking, why? Because "his" cougar would be, like, 60! My age...and no wise cracks...'cuz I just can't imagine Bob doin' that...and then I got confuse-ticated.....

Nope, just passing it along from hearing about it at work. I've got my own pet "cougar" right here at home. She's actually just over a year older than me, and can eagerly take all I can dish out. No reason to be an alley cat for me....
Beyond my control. At least I'm not just old....
