You think that is bad, I once backed up my 68 VW bug and bumped my dad on his rear and knocked him down who was crouched down next to the car in pouring down rain. Next thing I see is this madman with bulging eyes pop up and rip my closed passenger side door off the car!!! Think I'm kidding? Needless to say I left the scene of the accident....

Well, yes it could have been worse. Just saying.....hope you get her back up to speed soon. PM. <><

ripped the rear quarter off the ole man's vette while backing out of the garage at 16.

He threatened to take away my breathing privileges.

There are those who have and those who will.

Sure there's jokes to be made. I might have thrown a few in if I caught this earlier.

I love any bike I've had as much as any of you, but I'd rather my kid practice backing into the bike as many time as it takes to teach them not to back into a street and get T-boned by some drunk, some unlicensed, uninsured lowlife, someone doing their makeup, on the cellphone, or having a heart attack. Next time the kid can't see what he's backing into, he might remember his dad's precious bike and imagine how much worse his dad would feel if his boy was killed, and take another couple looks.

silver lining to this dark cloud is I see it as the perfect opportunity to get the bike painted a custom color to your liking. nothing like having a one off bike that nobody else has.
I like that idea. Did I see a yellow one somewhere?

not the worst thing he's ever done. 2 years ago he was backing out his car and hit my suburban and my wife's lincoln at the same time. takes talent to get 2 at once. Lincoln just had a scuffed bumber and broken taillight, suburban had a caved in door.

ok then obviously he needs some more drivers training here dad. i mean seriously, he's hit 3 vehicles, all while backing up, in only a coupla years? past time for some parking lot practice me thinks. its one thing when their your vehicles and your awfully nice about it, but now he's out in the real world and since he's got talent, its only a matter of time before he nails someone else. there's more than enough bad drivers out there, please don't add your kid to the problem.

Just thought I'd share this experience since some of you also have teenage sons ....
Morning. Son leaving for college, car loaded to the max. he backs into my pristine FJR.
Sounds like we'd have a matched set. I had a Ducati ST2 and had it parked in the garage against the front wall, in front of the then-new Ford Escape. My then 16 daughter was in a rush to meet my wife and not yet really comfy with driving a stick. It was about 8am on a Sunday morning, and neither of us are any kind of morning people. I was on the interior side of the garage wall when there was a gawdaweful BAMMM so hard that the pictures bounced on the wall. She said she was looking over her shoulder when the car went forward and hit the Duck so hard the handlebar and mirror were driven through the wall. I flung the garage door open, saw my beloved Duck leaning, pinned in the wall, and my beautiful daughter's mouth moving without being able to talk, she was so stunned. Her eyes and her mouth were all the shape of an "O"

Fixed the Duck, lived with it a couple more years, & she starts her senior year of college Sunday. Now we shake our heads and laugh about it. Since that day, nobody but me has moved a vehicle on that side of the garage when the bike's in there.

Bob
