Planning a weekend ride to South Lake Tahoe and wondering if anyone can recommend a nice motel/hotel, walking distance to restaurants/casinos, etc. with secure overnight parking for motorcycles. I've been reading a lot of motel reviews online and it seems like there are more bad than good...

Thanks.

Can't recommend any one in particular, but when we go to south Lake Tahoe, we just ride around 'til we find one that looks suitable. There's so many up there, we've always found vacancy. We unusually start at the north west part of 89 and work our way down.

Hmmmm....this is the busy summer season so you may have some trouble finding one with a vacancy. Try the Super8, about 1/2 mile from the gondola/base of Heavenly. Close to the casinos as well. Heard some good things about it.

I was just up there weekend before last and stayed at the Best Western Plus Station House Inn. Was able to park the bike right outside the room, free full breakfast, and an amazingly quiet room considering all of the families staying there. Walked about 2 blocks over to the Nevada line and casinos/restaurants. I should have popped a few more bucks for the king bed, the queen was too small for the wife and me.

I was there in July and enjoyed the Stardust. For a reasonable price it put me right in the thick of the casinos. Small efficient rooms and very well kept.
