If you've ever wanted to motorcycle tour South America and Africa, and your Papa Chuy really wants to, then come to Victory BMW in Chandler, AZ on Saturday 3/5.

You also can enter a drawing to win a FREE 16 day tour of South America or a 25% discount on a South African M/C Tour. All of the free BMW Kool-Aid you can drink!

I just saw this presentation on Thursday at SDBMWMC in San Diego. I was pretty familiar with the South America stuff from trip reports I've seen, but a lot of what they showed us on South Africa was new to me.

BUMP REMINDER: If you have an interest in Motorcycle Touring South America and South Africa, then this Travel Symposium is for you. Lots of great information.

NOTE: There will be liters and liters of free ever delicious BMW Bleu und Weiss Roundel Kool-Aid for you to consume. After the presentation we will gather around Victory's 1963 BMW R27 display bike on the showroom floor and sing Wehrmacht marching songs, auf Deutsch of course. One lucky participant will be shown the secret BMW handshake! Deutschland uber Alles, Schatzie!

That was a pretty good presentation. After the travel part, the tucker-rocky rep gave an Arai helmet and Scala communications presentation. Also very good.

So BeemerDon, which tour are you taking first?
https://www.samatours.co.za As far as South Africa goes, I really LOVE the Itenerary of the 10-day Motorcycle Train Tour; #1. Fly into Pretoria and ride Kruger Park, Lesotho and Swaziland for 5 days.

Then you board the train for Cape Town and another 5 days riding all the Southern Capes. My pick!

https://www.compassexpeditions.com As far as South America goes, it would come down to just flipping a coin between these five: 1) 14-day Best of Patagonia riding Chile and Argentina. 2) 16-day Conquistador riding Chile and Peru. 3) 14-day Taste of Brazil riding Brazil and Argentina. 4) 14-day Brazilian Explorer, a GS off road ride. 5) 15-day Highlights of Peru riding Peru and Bolivia. Fantastic!

Don, I know you love to chase trains like a dog chases fire engines but if I'm going all the way to South Africa I want a little more seat time.

You should check out the Motoquest tour that covers most of the south end of SA.

I have yet to sip from the Berlin pitcher of Kool-Aid and have trouble doing the goose step with my artifical knee.

I also don't own a square helmet but I'm willing to try one of these Barvarian contraptions.

I'm really got the itch to see this part of the world in 2012. We should talk.
