The July 29th ride (see related thread) got cancelled due to High Heat - mid 90's high humidity. I didn't have but 2 others that wanted to ride SW WI. THEY are going to be gone the next two weekends....

So my question to YOU is this: When would YOU COME?

August 5th, August 12th, August 19th or August 26th?

Also, as the ride starts in Dodgeville and weaves north, would you be more interested if there was an overnight stay up north somewhere- say Sparta or somewhere else and weave ourselves back down and/or head home on Sunday (ie a two day ride)

Hey, no fair! :cray: We won't be able to go since we'll be gone for the next two weekends and then we'll have to catch up on everything once we get back!

That's alright, we'll catch up with you on Sept 17th :smilingsmiley:

Wheaton, hopefully someone will want to come out and play...

Bluebear

Yeah, hopefully some people in WI/IL will want to come out and play...otherwise no sense in starting ride threads anymore...

On another note...

Hey Bluebear, you and grnarrowe have a great trip!

Also, some little birdy told me that we have 27 people signed up for CFO...that's great!!

Group ride cancelled due to lack of interest...

Not lack of interest on my part, lack of time, I love those Wisconsin roads, but I would have to put two days together in order to do that, and thats hard for me to do.

It would be great if we could maybe do a Dodgerville, ride in for lunch and some bench racing, thats something I could do in one day, and work in some good riding to and from. Ya think. <_<

@ab: Obviously you've got a further hike than others to get there so you've got a good reason not to go on that ride. We can bench race in Sparta...so I'll see you there for that and hopefully some good riding fun, too. Regarding the SW WI trip, I don't want to go to Dodgeville- at the edge of all those good roads- and NOT go on them. If I'm gonna make the effort to get to Dodgeville, I wanna do the fun roads, too.

I guess I was surprised that there was not much response at all from people on the board from northern IL and southern WI. Guess I'll start checking the ST.net board ...

Sorry wheats, just looked at this thread, been working 24 on 24 off last little bit. Between flips and outright rehires and trades for the wedding the only weekend i have off is during the air and water show, and that is almost religion for me. So, I'm pretty well done until october when we get back from Hawaii. But if you and the family are in the area for the airshow stop on by! God, I was hoping this would be the year I'd ride 10,000 miles on the bike, I doubt it'll be 5 :angry2:

Boo Hoo! :p LOL. Come on Mark…scoot up and grab some coffee with us ST-Ners sometime in the North there hey? LOL. I finally have my first weekend off coming up this weekend since the ST-National/Ramble. Maybe if the weather is good I may head to Lake Geneva Saturday for a cup of adrenaline. Send me a PM if interested or post here…weather permitting of course. They have some kinda shin-dig going on. Also a car show coming up at the lake front in Brewtown I plan to attend Sunday. Other than that…I have time off for the CFO! :drinks:

Yeah right Steve,

Sure...NOW you're interested :) .

Actually, I would be interested in doing a WI ride sometime w/the STNers. However, it will probably have to be Mid-Oct probably before that happens unfortunately.

Work has ramped up recently, and if before CFO I have a free Saturday or Sunday with good weather forecast I will probably ride a route that I will recommend at CFO to double check stuff like road conditions and such. After CFO, I'm planning on taking my wife out for a mcy weekend in SW WI. After that, the last weekend in September is the Hooterville 400 in Arkansas that Smitty is hosting.

That brings me to October...therefore I will check with you at CFO to see whether you have any October rides scheduled then...

BTW, How's the shiny new ffffaaaassssttt bike?!

Love the new “Shiny Bike”. :yahoo: It truly is everything I have been looking for: 6-speed trani, more power :diablo: , less weight, way better handling, smooth as butter and ahhhhhh better ergonomics (for me). A perfect SPORT-tourer. Farkling/shopping will be my winter project. So far ordered a MagKnight tank protector and a lockable tank bag by Tank Locker (to protect the beautiful black paint). This should about suffice for my needed space for the remainder of the riding season along with my Oxford tailpack. Later, I am looking at the now available Givi hard bags SHOWN HERE that I may purchase over winter for next years South Dakota/Wyoming trip. Krauser is suppose to release a 3-bag-system (w/top-box) this winter, so I am interested in what they bring to the plate. The now available integrated Corbin bags aren’t bad but too much $$$. Quite simply, I am amazed with all the aftermarket stuff becoming available for the 14  . Be it touring, sport-related or simply to add more bling…it’s all there. Okay…enough of me rambling about my shiny new toy. LOL. Pass the cigars please! LOL. I got me a new baby! LOL.

See ya at CFO and hopefully a coffee meet soon in beer country!

Oh…last note, don’t forget the Slimey Crud run the first Sunday in October!

Steve
