I'm not sure if this was the site, but there's a particular group of hobbyists that have the US Govt. a bit annoyed because they use simple math to keep track of where a satellite will appear and when...

... even the covert satellites.

 
If you lie on the beach in Puerto Penasco Mexico at night, you can watch the satellites passing over traveling from south to north...It's pretty cool.
