Personally, I've never sat at a light with more than one other motorcycle or scooter in any of the lanes, except when riding with friends. That would seem to make the demand for such kinda low. Now, if you're in a line of traffic with a quarter or half the vehicle count being motorbikes, then it pays of.

Besides, how do you get up there if you can't lane share from the back . . . . .?

Love that idea. With gas prices rising, which forward thinking politicians are going to get bikes, then come up with this idea?
Totally agree. Recently went to the dealer where I bought my feej last summer. Back then, he had 20-30 scooters on the floor. This year, he had none and said he couldn't keep them in stock.

So, it's obviously not going to be long before they're flocking through traffic and clogging things up. I say let 'em up front...

Spain is like most of the world, in letting bikes filter or lane share. Here's a shot from the web of traffic in what looks like Sukumvit in Thailand that is totally normal. At the green light, the 2-stroke oil turns the air blue and at the next light the whole gran prix race for pole position starts again.
