So, like, the XM receiver Audiovox Xpress, throws out some bitchin' purty sparks when you hook it up to a 12V system, you know? :eek:

Well, dayang, them sparks sure be purty, but thet Oh-zone kindy stinks, don't it? Then thars the sound uh yew sayin' sum perty stinky sh...er, stuff. :D

Sparks are fine so long as you don't let the magic smoke escape.
Exactly! As all electrical wizards know, smoke is what makes all electrical devices work. Keep it inside and they work, let it out and they no workie no more.

No fuse. Though I will say Circuit City rocks! Even though I screwed the pooch, they promptly swapped it out for me!

And no, not a gent from Scotland. He hailed from Tennessee. Thump. :dribble:

12V-6V= Ooops
Close: 12V - 5V = Bzzzt, puff, Dumb-*** :blink:
