For discussion....

Some people are reporting differences in speedo error. Are all of the '06s being delivered with the same tires? Reason for asking...while we like to think there are standards, a 120/70x17 from one manufacturer is not the exact same size as a 120/70x17 from a different manufacturer. Any chance that this slight difference in size (ultimately height of the tire) result in the different readings?

More likely the difference is due to eyeball error in reading the speedo. The speedo dial is so compressed that it's difficult to read with any accuracy. Are you looking straight down on the dial or from a side angle? With a highly compressed dial your viewing angle will affect your reading unless the needle is near the 12 o'clock position. A better comparison is to compare readings from the odometers. No reading error here. The odometer reading on my FJR appears to be more accurate than the speedo. It reads 2+ percent high.

The difference between tire brands is probably less than the difference between a new tire and that same tire 6,000 miles later.
