Unless you're referring to age from the factory? As in how long they've sat in a warehouse before you spooned them onto your bike?

I have been told 8 year old tires need changed even with good tread .
I've been told similar stuff... but ended up thinking ... You can use older (5-10 yrs) tires, you just can't trust the feel like a newer (softer) tire.

Older than 5-10 yrs and showing 'cracking' from age or dry rot or splitting ANYWHERE and I agree they should be tossed.

It's your bike, your tires, and your life. Ride what you want. YMMV
