Will you guys send me your used oil (from the motorcycles)? I'll run it for at least another 5k km. A tear down after 500,000km would show my engine bits to be indistinguishable from yours.

I won't send it, but you can come get it.

I suppose this thread is about how most of us change the oil more often than necessary. You are probably right, but it is cheap insurance and can't possibly hurt anything. I like to change mine every 5k miles because it is easy to remember when it needs changing. That goes for all of my vehicles regardless of what oil I use.

Hey Norman I got about 4 gallons of used Oil, also got some tires that have steel belts almost showing U can have it all for a one time only price!

Since You Are Implying That the Oil Is Only HalF Used Up When We Change It, I Will Happily Sell It To You For Half What I Originally Paid.

Soind Ok ?

I'm sure you could go to your local parts store where oil is discarded and drain it from their recycle tank if you're that desperate!!

I change mine once a year.Even easier to remember.
I change my car, pickup, and Kawasaki once a year, but I'm not comfortable doing an oil change every 14,000 miles on the FJR

Obviously we'll all do what works best for us. I can't use a regular mileage interval because it too often falls right in the middle of a trip. I'll agree with Geezer that it's better to change it before it needs it than to let it go too long. How long's too long? I don't know and can think of only one way of finding out. I'll just change too often thank you.

I've got four gallons here now that you can have. Call first to be sure I'm at home.

Nevermind. I see this was split off another topic. That changes the context. My apologies.
