Hamilton wins.....what are we witnessing here?

For the last 10 years, whoever was leading the championship after round 6 has won the title. Canada was the 6th round after which he led by 8 points. He now leads by 10 points.

Mustn't write Ferrari off though.

They actully broadcast the race over here. IIRC, they are only going to show the 2 North American races....at least we got to watch.

The race here in Detroit was preemptd by a f***ing baseball game.

Network TV -- Fox -- is showing 4, including the French GP in two weeks. Speed channel carries the rest of the season live plus at least one practice session and qualifying. That F1 qualifying format has really grown on me.

Great job by Hamilton holding off Alonso at the start and when Fernando made the later charge. He won this one in qualifying. This kid is amazing -- not just his speed, but how cool headed he is. Here's a rookie with the two time defending champion on his butt the whole race, and he never puts a wheel wrong.

Great racing in the midpack this time and the broadcast showed quite a lot of it. What a nice change! The first F1 points ever scored by a teenager -- a bit of trivia that surprised me. And Ralf took another step in cementing his reputation as a prat. It all makes for a great race.

Now, feejer222, I'm gonna turn the DVR on and spend the rest of Father's Day seeing if your boy Toseland picked up Hamilton's UK karma. I'll be rooting for the Yammies, but a Toseland win wouldn't disappoint.

Yep. Should have left well enough alone.

U.S. commentators talked a lot about Ferrari's wind tunnel problems before the North American swing. If that was the difference, they may be back for the rest of the season.
