The drive of a champion:
Lewis Hamilton deserves to win the championship this year purely on the back of the performance he put in today. He kept his head and made no mistakes, in a rain soaked and very eventful race. His team mate Fernando Allonso who was his main challenger in the championship probably saw his chances dissapear when he crashed out. Hamilton was tee-boned by Kurbitza at one point, spun out and came back on without any car damage. Kurbitza, who took the position was made to do a pit lane drive through.
2 Of the Red Bull cars (from different teams but with the same owner), took each other out whilst heading for 2nd & 3rd. They had both just come out with new tyres on and Sebastian Vettel in 3rd took out Australian Mark Webber from 2nd. Webber was interviewed and would only comment 'young drivers learning the ropes, what else can I say?' 20 Year old Vettel was filmed in the pits crying.
During the first part of qualifying which is done in stages, Hamilton left himself with only one lap in which to put in a time that would allow him in to the second part of qualifying. Had he not done it he would have started 18th on the grid. He eventually qualified on pole.
The comentary team gave drive of the race to Hamilton, but for me it must go to Kimi Riekenen in the Ferrari who after running off and re-joining twice charged through from 23rd to finish 3rd
After victory number 4, Hamilton is now 12 points clear, with 10 points for a win and only 2 races to go he can afford a DNF or a couple of 3rds. He is one of only 7 drivers to pass the 100 point mark and is likely to be champion in his rookie year. He is 22, what more to come? AND HE IS A BRIT!!!!!
