I'm running the Metz Z8s. Got 11,500 out of the Z6s. I like them better then the Z6s but don't have anything else to compare them with. Has anyone ever compared them to the PR2s or 3s ???

PR2s are long lasting, non- compliant tires with a harsh ride that can'thold a line in corners. They're a lot like marriage - great in the

beginning but then you spend a lot of time just wishing they would die.

Tires have evolved considerably the last few years...PR2s simply got

left behind. i.e. PR3, Angel GT, BT-023GT, etc.
Not true, at least according to Michelin...

They developed the PR3 not to over take the PR2, but to provide a tire similar but with more siping and a tad different (Softer) compound. This was done for a better "wet traction". Mainly for riders who require or see more rain/wet usage. According to their sales team, the siping and compound (PR3) will also result in a tad faster wear than the PR2. SO, "bottom line" (their words) 2 tires with 2 different advantages to each, and both have their homes in the market.

PR2's are still your best wear tire, but, PR3's are your better wet traction tire. It's just that simple and they (Michelin) still make both tires for both purposes AND the PR2's did not get left behind (but that was pretty funny I must admit!).

Holy Hell SLK?! All tires go to sh** after a couple thousand miles of hard cornering, especially on the FJR. You talking just nonsense about such a durable tire. To compare PR2 bliss throughout their lifecycle to being married to some dried up, bitchy, sperm hunting, sea-donkey is just blasphemy! The PR2 rocks the competition and although the PR3 is indeed better, good luck getting anywhere close to the same mileage. They wouldn't be making and selling a bagillion of them if the PR3 was a direct replacement.

I'm almost due for a new set of tires. Thought I would try the new Pirelli Angel GT (A spec for the rear). Best price I have found (including shipping and tax) is just over $300 for the pair. Anyone found a better price on these? Although I am in Canada, I usually get tires shipped to a US address and pick them up when I am there.

Pete's Superbike (Montreal) has very good prices but doesn't include shipping or sales tax. By the time these are added, the price ends out higher than US mail order.

My PR2's did very well in heavy rain this morning for about 45 miles. Coming down so hard all I was doing was following tail lights.
