I cannot justify the $200 annual subscription service fee for use of the device one or two times a year. They doubled it this year with no visible improvements in service.

So I cancelled the service and will simply rent a device on an ad hoc basis or will buy a dedicated GPS emergency beacon with no messaging capability but with no annual subscription required either.

Yours for $40, you pay shipping CONUS from 64112.

This is an easy solution. Ride more until you feel it is justified ,lol.

So my spot 3 is 150 per year. I need to check bank statement . I'm wondering if first gen is really more expensive . When I bought my spot 3 there was a 150$ rebate. Maybe time to upgrade ? If something happens you can't afford not to have a spot . Hope you get it worked out.

I have a Gen 1. I just checked and it will cost $159.98 to renew; they have added a $0.99/month network fee to all renewals. I have the webpage option.

I decided to just use bubbler/spotwalla. But then I never bother starting it up... spot would be smarter. Good deal for someone.
