Hey all,

I hopped on the bike today for a quick run up to cooler climates and some twisty roads. I peeled off of I-10 in Banning CA for a run towards Idyllwild on hwy 243. That's just 26 miles of nothing but near perfect pavement twisting as often as possible. I only had to hold up behind cages a couple of times and they both pulled off for me at their first chance. Once I passed through Idyllwild I turned onto hwy 74 towards Lake Hemet and Palm Desert. Just after I passed the intersection of hwys 74 and 371 (371 goes to Anza) I spotted a blue FJR headed towards Idyllwild. Just wondering if it was anyone from the forum. Just before reaching Palm Desert (near Palm Springs) there are some switchbacks that drop you nearly 4000 feet of elevation in around 11 miles. Good times.

It wasn't me this time, but it will be tomorrow. I live in San Jacinto. I love that loop.

Next time you're at the 371/74 intersection, stop into the Paradise Corner restaurant.

It's right there... on the corner. Great food, blues music on the weekend afternoons on the patio. I think for me, tomorrows ride is going close to you. Up 62 to Joshua Tree, through the park, and then back home up 74. The park is open all the way through again. It was closed at the Y after the last storms.

See you out there sometime.

Ride safe.

WOW! That is probably one of the best twisty pics I've ever seen!
The picture doesn't do it justice. The next time you're planning to be in SoCal (this picture just outside of Palm Desert, near Palm Springs) let me know and I'll give you a fantasitic tour that will include this road.

:D

GUN,I think I might take that ride this sun.

mabe we can meet at paradice corner?
Perhaps...

Shoot me an email at FJR AT ScottWright DOT net and we'll see if our schedules are compatible.

I'll see what happens. I'm riding a loop tomorrow down to Sunrise hwy, back up 79 past the lake, and back. I live on the Hemet side of the hill. If I can sneak out Sunday also, I might take a cruise out there for a coke or something. If you haven't eaten there, wait until you get there for lunch. The food there is great. Also, music on the patio on the weekends.

Maybe I'll see you there.

Ride safe.
