It really isn't my clutch lever, but the plunger that gets depressed when you squeeze the lever. It feels/sounds like a plastic bushing is rubbing something. A very plasticy-squeak every time I pull in the clutch. It used to only happen on hot days, but it seems to happen more often now.

There isn't exactly anything to lube, and it is incredibly annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? I may still have the YES warranty (will check tomorrow) and, if so, I'm going to see if this will be covered.

There is a small round brass piece inserted in the clutch lever that pushes a shaft into the master cylinder to actuate the clutch release mechanism. You can remove the clutch lever from the bike and take the brass piece out, clean it up, lubricate it with some good grease and it will be quiet for a couple years. If you ignore it the brass piece will wear.

I'll have to check it out. It looks like there's a rubber cover over the "plunger" (for lack of a better term). That's why I assumed there was nothing to lube.

The brass part is a bushing, part number 4 in this diagram. Remove the clutch lever and you'll see it easily enough.

'Geezer' is correct -- it's the dry little brass 'round thing' (#4) squeaking in the alu lever (#9). If left un-attended (un-lubed) it'll eventually accumulate enough extra clearance to noticeably change the clutch release/engagement point.

Thanks guys! Mine had just starting to make some noise and I pulled the lever and cleaned and greased it. Smooth as silk now.

What do I grease it with? Will white lithium grease (spray) work?

Thanks for the tips, all!

EDIT: Ran downstairs and pulled out part 11, greased it up with white lithium grease, and squeak is gone! Thanks again everyone!
