All slab? hmmmm
You've obviously never attempted an SS2000....this isn't my cup o tea either, but this ain't no flower sniffing ride. :glare:
Nope! nor does it sound like it's on my bucket list.

I'll sacrifice the quantity for quality anyday (plus maybe I'm a lil A.D.D.) but I give credit to those mile-logger-numb-butters

OK he is on I-8 now. Obviously returning on a different route.
Um, obviously not. :) He rode that route out, bypassing Pheonix. He'll be turning north shortly.
I'm figuring this track history slowly... I left for work on his way out- (I had assumed he dropped down I-17 because of Top_Speed1's

comment of "All slab?") My Bad.

Think I like Spotwalla a little better. The updates on SPOT site take one off task if you are reviewing a ride's history on previous page.

@101stpathfinder,

I told him about Spotwalla once, I guess I will try again.

I just got a message from him, and he said he is at 1518 miles in Bun Burner Gold time. He had a little confusion about what time zone Arizona was in, as the receipt said 7:58 am and he needed it to be completed by 7:41 am. Since AZ is an hour ahead, it looks like he is OK.

He said it was a little tough from El Paso to Gila Bend, with fatigue, but now with the sun rising up, he sounds great and has a second wind.

For anyone following who does not know, a SS2000 Gold is 2000 miles in 36 hours. This is a lot more difficult than a SS2000.

So it looks like he has until 7:41 pm Pacific time to get back to Visalia and complete the SS2KGold.

I am attempting this ride in May in Texas. I am following with great interest. It looks like a fuel stop with quite a long break once he was back on I-10.

Maybe a meet up (?) naps are great and he is looking good. A BBG pace leaves 500 miles with 12 hours left.

Doug BTW... Do you remember our meet up on the trifecta? You remember the flag you had me hold on to for a pic?

Well it seems you gave me some luck buddy!!!

I want to thank all for the support and interest in my ride. Doug, you are such a great friend. Keeping me company and following along was great! Again, many, many thanks! I did complete the BBG with about 45 min to spare. After that I had quite a bit of time banked for the SS2000 Gold. I took leisurely gas stops. I got home with about 3 hours to spare with and logged 2,063 miles by GPS. The BBG was a little close with 1,515, but the goal of the ride was a SS2000 Gold, the BBG was a treat!

Thanks again and a full ride report will follow.

P.S. - About turning around if I started with the RR........Seriously????

Man thats a hellofa ride. Big congrats for completing it! I think you need this now as an accessory:

Thanks again. Yes the insanity continues. That will be 14 certified rides in 2012. I have one more planned in December to end the 2012 year!
