I've always been curious as to whether or not the Honda ST1300 went through an update similar to the FJR's Gen2 update? If so, what year?

No, no Gen II's. Well at least there is a 50% chance I'm right, better than I get at home. :lol:

Nothing significant. First year (2003) only had the electric windscreen on the ABS model, but later it became standard on all models.

The ST1300 and the ST1100 were/are great bikes, but I'm happier with the FJR than I ever was with my ST1300. I owned several ST1100's and I still prefer them to the ST1300. YMMV

I'm not thinking of defecting over to Honda or anything, but when I was shopping for a sport-touring bike a few years ago, the ST-1300 was one of the bikes I was interested in. The only problem was that I NEVER saw an ST1300 here in Vegas (dealer or private-party sale). I'd go into the Honda dealership asking them and they thought I was crazy or something, because they'd never heard of the ST1300.

That's nothing unusual. Many stealers have never even seen a ST and this goes back to the 1990 time frame when the ST1100 was introduced. I bought my first one in April of '91 shortly after the silver was introduced (the early '91's were black).
